Domestic Solar Panel Installation

Solar Panel Installation

We are able to install our market leading solar panels throughout the UK, but if you're unsure if your area is covered, then please feel free to contact us and we'll be more than happy to help with any questions you might have!

So, why should you install one of our solar energy systems? The answer is simple really, you'll not only be able to produce your electricity and help reduce your carbon footprint, but you'll actually be able to make money as well! Sounds good to be true, right? Well it's not.

Domestic Solar Investment

So how does installing a solar panel system actually make you money? It's all thanks to something called the 'Feed in Tariff' scheme.

Back in 2010, the UK governement followed the lead of several other European countries and introduced the 'Feed in Tariff' scheme. In simple terms, this is a system where energy companies must offer financial reward to those who generate their own electricity using renewable sources such as solar PV, wind turbines and thermal heat pumps. It doesn't matter whether the energy is used by the party who produced it, or if it's fed back into the national grid, the payment is made simply for the act of generating it. This payment scheme is guranteed for 20 years by UK law, so don't worry it's not going anywhere any time soon!

The payments from the 'Feed in Tariff' scheme will even increase each year in line with inflation. Also, if you're using the electricy you generate, it means you don't have to buy it from the energy companies, meaning you could save up to 15p per kWh at today's prices! Any energy you don't use will be fed back into the national grid, and you will receive around 5p per kWh, depending on your energy supplier.

Domestic Solar Panel Installation FAQs

Will I need planning permission?

For a standard domestic roof mounted solar panel installation in the UK, you won't normally need any planning permission. However, should you be considering one of our other solar panel installations, such as a ground mounted system, or your propoerty is a listed building, or if your property is part of a world heritage site, then you will most likely need to seek approval from your local Council. Although don't let this put you off, we are more than happy to provide full assistance and support from planning permission to installation of your new solar panels!

How much will it cost me?

For the average domestic solar power system you'll be looking at a minimum investment of around £5,000 (inc. VAT). This price covers everything you need to start producing your very own electricity; from the market leading solar panels, to the PV inverter, the insulators and a comprehensive post installation testing to check everything is working as it should be.
